I never pay full price

Doesn’t that sound impossible?!

But really, I don’t pay full price for most things. With the exception of groceries which even then I sometime don’t (I’ll explain that later).

So it may be my cheap nature or the fact that even though we are very blessed with jobs we love we’ve always needed a budget. Like I always say, I’m going to be real with you. When left to have free reign, we spend like there’s no tomorrow 😬 I know, bad right?! Where’s my self control?! 😫

So here’s a few tips I’ve came to find over the last few years!

First and foremost! I couldn’t give enough praise to a budgeting system. It literally saved us. We use the envelope system. We literally take cash out and put them into designated envelopes, such as, groceries, gas, clothes, entertainment, etc. For us, if we literally see the money in hand, we think about our spending decisions more.

Secondly, we put our savings as the first thing that needs “paid”. So basically we think of our savings account as a bill. So every paycheck, the first payment we make is to our savings account, if that makes sense. When you think of it as a “bill” it helps make you stick to it 👌 Even if you start with $5.00 or $10.00 it really can add up fast. I’ve heard there’s a good rule of thumb to have that you need minimum 3 months of your expenses in savings. Which is a great rule of thumb but believe me I totally get that it seems a little crazy to try and constantly keep that saved up but once you do it, it is actually so easy to maintain and build on it!

Now on to the fun stuff! Like to shop? Who doesn’t?! I’m a huge Amazon shopper, in fact, my husbands always tells people that if I was a transformer my name would be Amazon Prime 😒 Cheesy right? But oh so very true 🤣

The fun part though is that if you have Ebates or have heard of Ebates you need to sign up ASAP! No joke. You can even link your debit card to your Ebates and it tracks your cash back. So again I may be paying full price at the time but I always get money back! So really what’s not to love?!

Also, you can you Ebates at these retailers and can earn cash back easily! Also, when only shopping these retailers sales, saves you even more cha-Ching! I only buy from American Eagle when they have their 40% off sales, I only shop Old Navy when they have their 50% off sale which I believe is happening now or just happened! And when shopping in stores, always, always shop the clearance first! We always find treasures there! Try Ross as well for great finds too! H&M always has great price points on their items even when they aren’t on sale. I just bought my kiddos their Christmas sweaters for $9.99 each!

Now it doesn’t happen too often but if you use the Walmart grocery app and pick up you can get a wonderful surprise now and again where you get more or a bigger sized item and still only pay for the smaller size! It’s usually because they didn’t have the size you wanted and upgrade you without you having to pay for the upgraded size! It’s always a nice thing to hear when I pick up my groceries!
